How much should my surgery cost?
You may get an estimate of what you might expect to pay by submitting a request on Medibid (www.medibid.com). There is a fee for your request. You will receive estimates of costs from health care providers in the United States and overseas.
Another option is to call the outpatient surgical site in your community and ask them how much it will cost. Usually, the cost at outpatient surgical sites is much lower than the hospital. However, many hospitals are beginning to feel the free market pressures to compete with pricing and service. Ask the hospital to give you an estimate of the “total” costs.
